Long time no paint

Wed May 20, 2009, 5:01 AM
Been bloody ages since I've painted anything. I've been busy with other things and havn't had much time for models and stuff, but hopefully this could potentially change sometime soon. But I wouldn't hold your breath. I do pop in occasionally to view messages and reply but consider me on long term hiatus. Although even as I say this I realise you probably already have, given it's been more than a year.

Great work with those models. I suppose I'll reach that stage where you get bored with just buying the things, and turn to conversions. I especially like your imaginative colour scheme on those Tau, such as O'Ukos.

Thanks dude. Yeah, I find simply sticking models together has lost the charm it once held, so conversions are the way to go for me.

I think you did a good job on those Marines, too.
Hm, well you have been doing it for quite a while.
I recently brought Shas'O R'Myr's battlesuit. I think I'll do it in standard colours, though.

Greetings fellow Tau player. I am Shas'O Fischer of Dal'yth.

My first Tau were Dal'yth, got very bored of the many many layers of paint needed for a clean white, very quickly. Always liked the colours scheme though.

I never had that problem. Why? I cheated. I primered the models gray and a good application of glossy white spray did the job for me.

Ah, I was trying to go for black lines between the white panels. In retrospect, a big mistake. i designed the current scheme with the base coat paints specifically considering how easy it would be to paint, and as such it's pretty easy. I'm a slow painter so anything I can do to speed it up helps.

Nothing wrong with being slow.
